Hagi Teacup

The origins of Hagi ware can be traced to the influx of Korean potters to Hagi, Japan, following Japan's military invasion of the Korean peninsula in the late 16th century.

Hagi ware is renowned for its simple rustic shapes, earthy colors and delicate translucent white glaze.  After heating in the kiln, the glaze creates a signature fine web of cracks and fine pores while cooling.

This handmade teacup features a soft, white translucent glaze.
