Cherry bark is one of Japan's finest handicrafts, with a history of at least 1,000 years. In old times, it was used on writing brush handles, bows and sheaths. About 200 years ago, it evolved into side work for the Samurai class.
This beautiful canister is made of tin and lined on the outside with cherry bark. It holds up to 3 oz of tea and the double lid helps to keep tea fresh.
