Yellow Buds is a rare yellow tea with a fragrant, sweet corn aroma and refreshing, nutty flavor. This tea has been famous since the Tang Dynasty and was used frequently as an Imperial tribute tea.
Yellow tea is a category of tea that is not well known outside of China. The main characteristic of this tea is its yellow color, both in dry leaf and infusion. The tea is processed similar to green tea; however, the leaves are covered and dried very slowly at low temperature. This special processing mellows out the bitter edge of green tea while enhancing the tea's aroma.
Origin: China, Anhui Province, Huo Mountain.
Harvest: Spring 2011
Brewing Recommendation: Use 1 tablespoon per 6 oz cup. Heat water until steaming (170 - 180º F). Let steep 2-3 minutes. Good for multiple infusions.
